Position Summary:

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care services in the Catheterization Laboratory for adults and geriatric patients
• Maintain current Alaska RN license, BLS, and ACLS certifications
• Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures
• Assist with percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) and cardiac stent placements
• Monitor patients during procedural sedation and manage emergency medications
• Operate specialized equipment including Impella, balloon pump, laser, rotablator, and shockwave devices
• Circulate procedures and provide support for interventional catheterizations
• Manage IABP placement/removal and pulmonary artery line monitoring
• Perform sheath removal and monitoring with topical hemostasis applications
• Document patient care using Epic charting system
• Float to Electrophysiology (EP) or Interventional Radiology (IR) departments as needed
• Participate in on-call coverage one day per week and every 4th/5th weekend
• Work scheduled Saturday shifts approximately once per month as part of regular 4-shift weekly schedule
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year)
• Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within comparable specialty
• Maintain infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions
• Administer blood products and manage IV vasopressors as required
• Monitor end-tidal CO2 and interpret/manage cardiac dysrhythmias
• Complete required compliance documentation and certifications
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in AK
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
