Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Outpatient to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 4x10 Days at a leading Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Administer chemotherapy and immunotherapy via intravenous, subcutaneous, intramuscular and intravesicular routes
• Provide blood administration and monitoring services
• Perform medication administration and monitoring
• Manage central lines and perform lab draws
• Conduct therapeutic phlebotomy procedures
• Assist with Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter (PICC) placement
• Perform clinical assessments and management of patients with blood disorders
• Support clinical research including Phase 1 trials
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:7
• Provide patient and family education and support
• Manage oncologic emergencies including anaphylaxis
• Administer IV push narcotic agents for pain management
• Handle body fluids post chemotherapy and manage cytotoxic spills
• Monitor chemotherapy administration and recognize/communicate abnormal lab values
• Implement isolation precautions and neutropenic precautions
• Access and manage ports and central line care
• Operate infusion pumps and provide intravenous hydration
• Work 2 weekends per 6 weeks with varying 6-8 hour shifts
• Complete 40 hours of unit orientation
• Maintain required certifications including BLS and chemotherapy certification
• Document patient care using unit systems and electronic health records
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
