Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - ICU Neuro to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide neurological intensive care nursing services with minimum 2 years neuro ICU experience
• Manage patient ratios of 2:1 (flexible up to 3:1 during high census)
• Care for stroke patients including ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, craniotomies, and post-neurosurgery patients
• Perform ventilator management and care of ventilated patients
• Administer blood products and manage continuous IV sedation
• Provide CVA/Acute Stroke management as part of comprehensive stroke center
• Manage external ventricular drains (EVD) and lumbar drains
• Monitor ICP using Camino and other specialized equipment
• Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias
• Provide central line care and management
• Utilize arterial line management skills
• Implement isolation precautions and proper PPE usage
• Document patient care using Epic charting system
• Pass EKG testing prior to assignment start
• Float between units within hospital and to affiliate hospitals as needed
• Work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15
• Complete 24 hours of unit orientation
• Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable pre-start and annual training modules
• Maintain current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Adhere to fatigue policy of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
• Complete lab work and compliance testing within 48 hours of assignment acceptance
• Provide two supervisory references from within the past 12 months
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
