Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - ICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive neurological intensive care nursing services in a Neuro ICU unit
• Maintain patient ratios of 2:1, with flexibility to accommodate 3:1 during high census periods
• Manage care for stroke patients including ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, SAH, SDH, and craniotomy patients
• Provide post-neurosurgery management and care for patients with carotid stents and endarterectomies
• Monitor and manage patients with aneurysm coiling/clipping, seizures, depth electrodes, and myasthenia gravis
• Operate and monitor specialized neurological equipment including EVDs, Lumbar Drains, Camino, LICOX, NICOM, and Arctic Sun
• Perform ICP monitoring and manage external ventricular drains and lumbar drains
• Administer blood products and manage central line care
• Provide continuous IV sedation management and care for ventilated patients
• Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias
• Manage arterial lines and hemodynamic monitoring
• Document patient care using Epic charting system
• Float between units within the hospital and to affiliate hospitals as needed based on census and patient needs
• Work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Maintain current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules (8-10 hours for acute care roles)
• Pass EKG testing prior to assignment start
• Adhere to isolation precautions and proper PPE usage
• Comply with fatigue policy limitations of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
• Complete comprehensive 24-hour unit orientation program
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
