Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - ICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide neurological intensive care nursing services with minimum 2 years Neuro ICU experience
• Manage complex neurological patients including strokes, craniotomies, aneurysms, and traumatic brain injuries
• Operate specialized neurological equipment including EVDs, Lumbar Drains, Camino, LICOX, NICOM and Arctic Sun
• Monitor and manage patients with external ventricular drains (EVD) and ICP monitoring devices
• Provide care for ventilated patients with continuous IV sedation management
• Administer blood products and manage central line care
• Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias in neurological patients
• Provide post-neurosurgery and post-craniotomy patient management
• Manage CVA/acute stroke patients and spinal cord injury cases
• Maintain patient ratios of 2:1, flexing to 3:1 during high census periods
• Complete documentation using Epic charting system and SBAR communication
• Float between units within hospital and to affiliate hospitals as needed
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15
• Work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Maintain current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Pass EKG testing prior to assignment start
• Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually
• Utilize infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions with appropriate PPE
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including IV teams, respiratory services, and rapid response teams
• Complete 24-hour unit orientation over 2 days or nights
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
