Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - ICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive nursing care in the Neuro Intensive Care Unit with patient ratios of 2:1 (can flex to 3:1 when needed) • Manage ventilated patients including care coordination and monitoring • Perform IV starts and maintain arterial line management • Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias in neurological patients • Administer blood products following established protocols • Provide central line care and management • Monitor and adjust continuous IV sedation for critically ill patients • Deliver specialized CVA/Acute Stroke management as part of comprehensive stroke center care • Manage external ventricular drains (EVD) and lumbar drains • Monitor intracranial pressure (ICP) using specialized equipment • Provide post-neurosurgery and post-craniotomy patient management • Care for patients with isolation precautions using appropriate PPE • Utilize Epic charting system for comprehensive patient documentation • Operate specialized equipment including Camino, LICOX, NICOM, and Arctic Sun • Float between units within the hospital and to affiliate hospitals as needed • Work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules • Maintain current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications • Pass EKG testing requirements prior to assignment start • Adhere to fatigue policy limiting work to maximum 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week • Complete comprehensive testing and compliance requirements within 48 hours of signing • Participate in 24-hour unit orientation program
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
