Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Med Surg Tele to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care for cardiac telemetry patients with medical/surgical conditions
• Manage patients with cardiac drips and medications requiring frequent vital sign monitoring
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias using telemetry equipment
• Care for patients pre and post cardiac procedures including catheterizations, electrophysiology procedures, and interventional procedures
• Provide care for patients with heart failure, NSTEMI/AMI, and other cardiac conditions
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:5-6 patients maximum
• Float to other medical/surgical areas and cardiac units as needed based on census and assignment
• Utilize Epic charting system for documentation and patient care coordination
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15
• Work every other weekend as required
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year)
• Perform IV starts and maintain peripheral lines
• Administer blood products and manage central line care
• Provide feeding tube care and management
• Follow heparin protocols and manage cardiac medications
• Assist with bedside cardioversion procedures when EP physician is present
• Complete required modules and training programs pre-start and annually (8-10 hours)
• Maintain current ACLS certification
• Pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed
• Complete lab testing and compliance requirements within 48 hours of signing
• Adhere to fatigue policy limiting work to maximum 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
• Comply with dress code requirements of navy and/or white scrubs
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
