Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Dialysis to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Wilmington, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care as an RN in the dialysis unit with 1:1-2 patient ratios
• Perform acute hemodialysis procedures using Fresenius equipment and peritoneal dialysis using Baxter equipment
• Manage patients with end stage renal disease, chronic kidney disease, acute kidney injury, and transplant rejection
• Operate Fresenius T Hemodialysis Machines with CliC and Bibag systems
• Utilize Baxter peritoneal dialysis cycler and perform CAPD procedures
• Provide bedside treatments for ICU/PCU patients on ventilators and titratable IV drips
• Document patient care using Epic charting system
• Maintain current BLS certification and obtain ACLS and CDN or CNN certifications as preferred
• Work 12-hour night shifts totaling 36 hours per week with every other weekend requirement
• Complete 24 hours of unit orientation including ICU/offsite and dialysis room training
• Participate in Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team assignments during catastrophic events
• Transport patients via Epic-requested Patient Transport services
• Handle airborne isolation procedures and infection control protocols
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year)
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules (8-10 hours for acute care)
• Provide two manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months
• Maintain valid NC or Compact nursing license
• Adhere to fatigue policy of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
• Float within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals based on census and skill sets
• Use facility communication devices including Voalte phone for verbal reports
• Follow self-scheduling protocols and unit policies
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
