Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Cardiac Tele to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Wilmington, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care in cardiac telemetry unit with minimum 2 years cardiac floor experience
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias
• Manage patients with cardiac diagnoses including atrial fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, and cardiomyopathy
• Provide pre and post cardiac catheterization care
• Perform sheath removal and sheath management procedures
• Manage cardiac drips with and without titration as required
• Care for patients with chest tubes using Emerson/Pleuravac systems
• Provide non-invasive airway management including CPAP/BIPAP and nasal cannula
• Care for post-operative patients following cardiac surgeries, thoracic procedures, and vascular surgeries
• Operate special equipment including doppler, bladder scanner, EKG, femoral sheaths, and epicardial pacing wires
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:4 for surgical step down and 1:5-6 for lower acuity patients
• Document patient care using Epic charting system
• Float within unit rotation and to affiliate hospitals as needed based on census
• Work 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period with flexible scheduling
• Maintain current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Pass EKG testing prior to assignment start
• Complete 24 hours of unit orientation
• Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
• Participate in Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team assignments during catastrophic events
• Adhere to fatigue policy limiting work to maximum 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
• Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 12 months of employment
• Maintain valid nursing license (NC or compact state)
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
