Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Cardiac Tele to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Wilmington, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive nursing care for cardiac telemetry patients with various cardiac conditions including atrial fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, and cardiomyopathy • Monitor and interpret cardiac dysrhythmias using telemetry equipment • Manage cardiac drips with and without titration capabilities • Perform pre and post cardiac catheterization care including sheath management and removal • Provide post-operative care for cardiac surgeries including CABG, valve replacements, and TAVR procedures • Manage chest tubes using Emerson/Pleuravac systems • Operate and monitor special equipment including arterial lines, femoral sheaths, TR bands, and epicardial pacing wires • Administer non-invasive airway management including CPAP/BIPAP and nasal cannula • Document patient care using Epic charting system • Maintain patient ratios of 1:4 for surgical step down and 1:5-6 for lower acuity patients • Float between units following rotation schedule and to affiliate hospitals as needed • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year) • Complete 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period • Participate in Storm Team and Hurricane Team assignments during catastrophic events • Complete 24 hours of unit orientation and ongoing annual training modules • Maintain current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications • Pass required EKG testing prior to assignment start • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams • Perform wound care and wound vac management • Manage peripheral and central line care • Adhere to facility fatigue policy limiting work to maximum 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
