Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - ICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive nursing care in the Neuro ICU with a minimum of 2 years neuro critical care experience
• Manage patient ratios of 2:1 (may flex up to 3:1 during high census)
• Care for stroke patients including ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, SDH, craniotomies, and post-neurosurgery patients
• Demonstrate competency in ventilator management and care of ventilated patients
• Perform IV starts and manage arterial lines and central line care
• Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias
• Administer blood products and continuous IV sedation
• Manage CVA/Acute Stroke patients and post-craniotomy care
• Operate and monitor external ventricular drains (EVD) and lumbar drains
• Perform ICP monitoring using specialized equipment
• Manage patients with traumatic brain injuries and spinal cord injuries
• Implement isolation precautions and proper use of PPE
• Document patient care using Epic charting system
• Float between units within the hospital and to affiliate hospitals as needed
• Work 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15) with every other weekend requirement
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year)
• Complete required modules and training programs pre-start and annually
• Maintain current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Pass EKG testing prior to start
• Complete 24-hour unit orientation
• Adhere to fatigue policy of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
• Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references from within the past 12 months
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
