Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - ICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care in the Neuro Intensive Care Unit with 2:1 patient ratios (may flex to 3:1 during high census) • Manage complex neurological patients including stroke, hemorrhagic conditions, craniotomies, and post-neurosurgery cases • Operate and monitor specialized neurological equipment including EVDs, Lumbar Drains, Camino, LICOX, NICOM, and Arctic Sun • Administer continuous IV sedation and manage blood product administration • Provide central line care and management for critically ill patients • Monitor and interpret cardiac dysrhythmias and implement appropriate management interventions • Care for ventilated patients and manage arterial lines • Implement isolation precautions and proper PPE usage • Document patient care accurately using Epic charting system • Float between units within the hospital and to affiliate hospitals as needed • Work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays • Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable training modules pre-start and annually • Maintain current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications • Pass EKG testing prior to assignment start • Complete 24-hour unit orientation over 2 shifts • Adhere to fatigue policy of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
