Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Ultrasound Tech - Ultrasound Tech to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Perform ultrasound examinations including general, abdomen, OB/GYN, high risk obstetrics, renal/pelvis, small parts, and vascular studies
• Conduct specialized imaging including carotid, arterial, doppler studies, peripheral vascular, and renal artery duplex
• Perform upper/lower extremity venous and arterial studies using M-Mode techniques
• Provide pediatric intussusception and appendix ultrasound examinations
• Conduct neonate/NICU ultrasound procedures
• Operate Samsung ultrasound equipment and Trophon high-level disinfection systems
• Document patient information and examination results using EPIC charting system
• Utilize PACS system for image storage and retrieval
• Work with McKesson medication management system
• Perform portable ultrasound examinations as needed
• Assist with specialized procedures including paracentesis and thoracentesis when required
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 18:00 to 06:30 on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday
• Complete approximately 40 ultrasound procedures per day within a two-room department
• Maintain current BLS certification
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules (4-5 hours for non-acute roles)
• Participate in one-week orientation Monday through Friday 8am-5pm
• Work with patients across all age groups including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Adhere to facility dress code requirements wearing royal blue scrubs
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year)
• Complete compliance testing within 48 hours after assignment confirmation
• Provide two supervisor references from within the past 12 months
• Maintain valid state licensure (NC or Compact license)
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
