Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - ICU Neuro to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care in the Neuro ICU with 2:1 patient ratios (flexible to 3:1 during high census)
• Manage patients with strokes (ischemic, hemorrhagic), SDH, craniotomies, carotid procedures, aneurysm treatments, seizures, and myasthenia gravis
• Operate and monitor specialized neurological equipment including EVDs, Lumbar Drains, Camino, LICOX, NICOM, and Arctic Sun
• Perform ventilator management and care of ventilated patients
• Administer blood products and manage continuous IV sedation
• Provide central line care and management
• Monitor and interpret cardiac dysrhythmias and manage dysrhythmia treatments
• Manage external ventricular drains (EVD) and ICP monitoring
• Provide post-neurosurgery patient care and management
• Implement isolation precautions and proper use of PPE
• Document patient care using Epic charting system
• Float between units within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals as needed
• Work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
• Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable training modules pre-start and annually
• Maintain current ACLS, BCLS, and NIH certifications
• Pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Adhere to fatigue policy of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
• Complete 24 hours of unit orientation over 2 shifts
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, PT, respiratory, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
