Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 4x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide intrapartum care for obstetrical patients 16 weeks and greater • Deliver high-risk antepartum and postpartum care • Manage patient ratios of 2:1 in a high-volume birthing unit • Perform sterile vaginal examinations • Provide immediate newborn care • Circulate for scheduled and unscheduled Cesarean births • Assist with rescue cervical cerclage procedures • Conduct obstetrical patient triage and screening • Perform routine outpatient procedures including antenatal fetal surveillance • Administer intravenous hydration and medications • Manage double labor assignments as daily occurrence • Float to Special Maternity Care high-risk OB unit as needed • Utilize Epic charting system for documentation • Operate PYXIS medication dispensing system • Perform OCT (Oxytocin Challenge Tests) • Handle infant/neonatal arrest situations • Interpret telemetry monitoring • Conduct pain assessment and management • Implement isolation precautions and PPE protocols • Work in LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) setting • Complete 24 hours of unit orientation • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules • Maintain current BLS, AWHONN Intermediate, and NRP certifications • Work minimum 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays • Adhere to fatigue policy of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
