Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - ER to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Huntersville, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide emergency department nursing care for patients across the entire age spectrum
• Maintain 1:4 patient ratios with assignments flexing based on acuity
• Start and maintain IVs for patient care
• Perform triage assessments and prioritize patient care
• Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias
• Manage dysrhythmias according to protocols
• Administer and monitor procedural sedation
• Administer continuous IV sedation as needed
• Provide care for stroke patients including administration of t-PA and TNK
• Manage chest pain patients including walk-in STEMI cases
• Care for ventilated patients when required
• Utilize Epic charting system for documentation
• Use Pyxis medication dispensing system
• Operate Alaris IV pumps and other special equipment
• Scan medications and lab specimens using facility systems
• Board inpatients in the emergency department when overcapacity
• Work collaboratively with nurses, CNAs, MURs, paramedics, ED physicians, and MLPs
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15
• Work every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday)
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
• Complete 2 twelve-hour orientation shifts on the unit
• Complete required hospital orientation during the first week
• Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually
• Pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Maintain current ACLS, BCLS, NIH, and PALS certifications
• Complete MOAB certification (training provided by facility)
• Adhere to fatigue policy of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
• Wear required navy and/or white scrubs
• Maintain valid NC or Compact state nursing license
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
