Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - ICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive nursing care in the Neuro Intensive Care Unit with patient ratios of 2:1 (may flex up to 3:1) • Manage neurological patients including strokes, hemorrhagic conditions, craniotomies, seizures, and post-neurosurgery patients • Operate specialized equipment including EVDs, Lumbar Drains, Camino, LICOX, NICOM, and Arctic Sun • Perform ventilator management and care of ventilated patients • Administer IV medications, manage continuous IV sedation, and perform blood product administration • Provide central line care and management, arterial line management • Monitor and interpret cardiac dysrhythmias and manage dysrhythmia treatments • Manage CVA/Acute Stroke patients and post-neurosurgery care • Perform ICP monitoring and manage external ventricular drains and lumbar drains • Document patient care using Epic charting system • Work 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15 • Float to other units within the hospital or affiliate hospitals as needed • Work every other weekend as scheduled • Maintain isolation precautions and proper use of PPE • Complete required modules and training programs pre-start and annually (8-10 hours non-billable) • Maintain current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications • Pass EKG testing prior to assignment start • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) • Adhere to fatigue policy of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week • Maintain current nursing license (NC or Compact state) • Complete orientation requirements (24 hours over 2 shifts) • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and other support departments
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
