Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 4x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide intrapartum, high-risk antepartum, and postpartum nursing care for obstetrical patients 16 weeks and greater
• Maintain 2:1 patient ratio in a fast-paced, high-acuity birthing unit with 400-600 births per month
• Perform sterile vaginal examinations and provide competent immediate newborn care
• Circulate for scheduled and unscheduled Cesarean sections with OR experience required
• Triage obstetrical patients in the birthing care unit's obstetrical triage unit
• Perform routine outpatient procedures including antenatal fetal surveillance, IV hydration, and medication administration
• Handle double labor assignments as a daily occurrence on the unit
• Utilize Epic charting system, PYXIS, and SBAR communication methods
• Float as needed to Special Maternity Care high-risk OB unit within women's services
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 - 07:15 with every other weekend requirement
• Complete 24 hours of unit orientation upon assignment start
• Maintain current BLS, AWHONN Intermediate, and NRP certifications
• Perform OCT (Oxytocin Challenge Tests) and manage infant/neonatal arrest situations
• Provide pain assessment and management for obstetrical patients
• Interpret telemetry and implement isolation precautions/PPE as required
• Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually
• Adhere to fatigue policy limiting work to maximum 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
• Work minimum 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule falling on Saturday or Sunday
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays as required
• Provide two manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
