Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Hematology Oncology to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care as a Registered Nurse in hematology oncology outpatient clinic
• Room patients and conduct comprehensive patient assessments
• Perform phlebotomy procedures on adult hematology patients
• Provide central line care and central line blood draws
• Assist with bone marrow biopsies
• Administer vaccinations to patients as ordered
• Perform EKG procedures
• Conduct phone triage for patient concerns and questions
• Facilitate appropriate scheduling of patients for infusions
• Provide patient education and make follow-up phone calls
• Perform case management duties for assigned patients
• Work with both malignant and non-malignant hematology teams
• Utilize Epic charting system for all documentation
• Maintain current BLS certification
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Recognize and communicate abnormal lab values appropriately
• Manage care for pre and post transplant and cellular therapy patients
• Work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM schedule
• Complete 24-hour unit orientation program
• Maintain professional appearance according to dress code requirements
• Provide comprehensive patient and family education and support
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
