Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - ICU Neuro to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care in the Neuro ICU with 2:1 patient ratios (may flex to 3:1 during high census) • Care for stroke patients including ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, SAH, SDH, and post-craniotomy patients • Manage patients with carotid stents, carotid endarterectomies, aneurysm coiling/clipping, seizures, and myasthenia gravis • Monitor and care for patients with external ventricular drains (EVDs), lumbar drains, and ICP monitoring devices • Perform ventilator management and care of ventilated patients • Administer blood products and manage continuous IV sedation • Provide central line care and management • Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias • Utilize specialized equipment including Camino, LICOX, NICOM, and Arctic Sun • Maintain isolation precautions and proper use of PPE • Document patient care using Epic charting system • Float to other units within the hospital or affiliate hospitals as needed • Work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays • Pass EKG testing prior to start date • Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually • Maintain current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications • Adhere to fatigue policy of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week • Provide two supervisory references from the past 12 months • Complete lab testing within 48 hours of contract signing
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
