Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Med Surg Tele to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Days at a leading Hospital in Lubbock, TX. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide patient care services as a Registered Nurse in Med Surg Tele unit
• Manage orthopedic trauma care including post-operative care for orthopedic trauma surgery patients
• Administer blood products and manage blood administration procedures
• Operate and maintain wound vacs for patient care
• Manage CPM (Continuous Passive Motion) devices and other special equipment
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias using telemetry monitoring
• Utilize Rapid Response/Code teams when necessary
• Perform peripheral line care and management
• Administer oxygen therapy including nasal cannula and high flow nasal cannula (HFNC)
• Provide non-invasive airway management
• Implement isolation precautions as required
• Perform phlebotomy procedures
• Manage peripheral nerve block catheters
• Provide care for total joint replacement patients
• Apply and manage traction devices including Buck's traction
• Perform wound care and wound vac management
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:5-6 patients
• Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation
• Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as assigned
• Work weekends according to scheduling needs
• Commit to working 3 out of 5 major holidays
• Complete required training modules pre-start and annually
• Maintain current BLS certification
• Provide post-operative care management for surgical patients
• Implement prevention strategies for pressure injuries
• Perform lifting and transfers as needed
• Maintain valid state licensure with compact privileges
• Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of experience
• Comply with dress code requirements for licensed nursing personnel
• Complete 12 hours of unit orientation
• Care for adult patients with various diagnoses including MVAs, fractures, amputations, and joint replacements
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in TX
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
