Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - NICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Days at a leading Hospital in Lubbock, TX. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care to neonates in NICU setting with 1:2-4 patient ratios
• Maintain minimum 2 years NICU experience and current state nursing licensure
• Float to PICU/pediatrics/pediatric ED as needed on a PRN basis
• Utilize Epic charting system for all patient documentation
• Maintain current BLS and NRP certifications
• Work 6 shifts per 6-week schedule period including weekend coverage
• Commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules (average 16 hours, non-billable)
• Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years
• Perform advanced NICU skills including ventilator management, IV therapy, blood product administration, and specialized neonatal procedures
• Care for patients with diagnoses including prematurity, respiratory distress, hypoglycemia, sepsis, and post-surgical conditions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services
• Maintain compact nursing license and complete 12-hour orientation
• Self-report time spent on training modules and maintain completion records
• Use facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in TX
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
