Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - NICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Days at a leading Hospital in Lubbock, TX. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to neonatal patients in NICU setting with 1:2-4 patient ratios
- Maintain current BLS and NRP certifications
- Demonstrate minimum 2 years NICU experience with competency in advanced neonatal skills
- Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation and records management
- Float to PICU, pediatrics, or pediatric ED as needed based on unit census
- Work self-scheduling format with flexibility for 3x12-hour shifts
- Provide care for neonates with conditions including prematurity, respiratory distress, hypoglycemia, sepsis, and surgical cases
- Perform advanced nursing skills including ventilator management, central line care, arterial line management, and medication administration
- Complete required pre-start and annual training modules averaging 16 hours
- Work 3 out of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Maintain compact state nursing license and provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services
- Provide patient and family education and support including breastfeeding assistance
- Manage complex neonatal equipment including high-frequency ventilators, ECMO, and hemodynamic monitoring systems
- Complete 12-hour orientation program upon assignment start
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in TX
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
