Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - PICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Lubbock, TX. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) with patient ratios of 1:2-3
• Maintain current BLS and PALS certifications
• Demonstrate competency in BiPAP/CPAP, care of ventilated patients, and ventilator management
• Manage central lines and implanted line care
• Administer continuous sedation and IV vasopressors
• Monitor and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and dysrhythmias
• Perform suctioning procedures (ETT, NT)
• Implement isolation precautions as required
• Provide care for post cardiac surgery patients
• Monitor ICP when applicable
• Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation
• Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as needed
• Work variable weekend schedules as assigned
• Complete required training modules pre-start and annually
• Commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Maintain valid state nursing license (compact license required)
• Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years
• Adhere to facility dress code (Navy scrubs for RNs)
• Complete compliance documentation and background requirements
• Use facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in TX
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
