Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Peds to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Lubbock, TX. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients including infants, children, and adolescents
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:4 as assigned
• Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation and record keeping
• Maintain current BLS and PALS certifications
• Perform skills including BiPAP/CPAP management, central line care, feeding support, and oxygen delivery systems
• Provide breastfeeding support and proper handling of breast milk
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and manage dysrhythmias
• Implement isolation precautions and infection control measures
• Manage hyperbilirubinemia and other pediatric medical-surgical conditions
• Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as needed
• Work night shifts (19:00 - 07:00) on a 3x12-hour schedule
• Work weekend coverage including occasional Saturday and Sunday shifts
• Commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services
• Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of experience
• Maintain valid compact nursing license
• Complete 12-hour facility orientation program
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
• Adhere to facility policies, procedures, and dress code requirements
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in TX
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
