Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - NICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Days at a leading Hospital in Lubbock, TX. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct nursing care to neonatal patients in NICU setting with 2+ years NICU experience • Maintain patient ratios of 1:2-4 patients as assigned • Float to PICU/pediatrics/pediatric ED as needed when not required in NICU • Administer medications including blood products, anti-seizure medications, antibiotics, antivirals, insulin, and IV vasopressors • Manage respiratory support including ventilators, high frequency ventilation, bubble CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and nitric oxide • Perform arterial line management and invasive hemodynamic monitoring • Provide care for surgical patients including post-abdominal surgery and chest tube management • Manage central lines, umbilical artery catheters (UAC), and umbilical vein catheters (UVC) • Perform phlebotomy and maintain IV access • Document patient care using Epic charting system • Provide patient and family education and breastfeeding support • Manage specialized neonatal conditions including respiratory distress, sepsis, NEC, and neonatal abstinence syndrome • Maintain current BLS and NRP certifications • Complete required training modules pre-start and annually • Work 3 out of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) • Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within comparable specialty • Maintain compact state nursing license • Utilize facility-provided communication devices when required • Complete 12-hour orientation program • Adhere to self-scheduling requirements and weekend coverage expectations
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in TX
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
