Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - NICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Lubbock, TX. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care to neonates in NICU setting with 1:2-4 patient ratios
• Maintain current BLS and NRP certifications
• Demonstrate minimum 2 years of NICU experience
• Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation
• Float to PICU/pediatrics/pediatric ED as needed on PRN basis
• Work 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Provide comprehensive neonatal care including administration of blood products, medications, and specialized treatments
• Manage complex neonatal conditions including respiratory distress, sepsis, prematurity, and post-surgical care
• Operate specialized NICU equipment including ventilators, high frequency ventilation, nitric oxide delivery systems
• Perform neonatal procedures such as IV starts, phlebotomy, feeding support, and airway management
• Provide patient and family education and support
• Maintain valid compact state nursing license
• Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years
• Complete 12-hour orientation program
• Work self-scheduling with 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, social services, and other specialists
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
• Use facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in TX
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
