Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Respiratory Therapist - Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide respiratory therapy services for neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics across ICU, PICU, and NICU settings • Deliver comprehensive respiratory therapies including NIV, high flow nasal cannula, nebulizers, chest physiotherapy, nitric oxide, and Flolan nebulizer treatments • Operate and manage various ventilator systems including Draeger vents for adults, Servo-I for PICU and NICU, 3100A and 3100B ventilators, and Jet ventilators • Perform arterial blood gas interpretation and umbilical blood gas sampling • Conduct airway management including nasal and oral airway placement, suctioning, and tracheostomy care • Administer various respiratory medications including bronchodilators, inhaled steroids, and specialized treatments • Assist in high-risk deliveries and emergency department procedures • Perform pulmonary hygiene, weaning from mechanical ventilation, and troubleshooting ventilator alarms • Support bronchoscopy procedures and extubation processes • Float between units within the hospital and to affiliate hospitals as needed • Maintain current BLS, CRT, and additional certifications as required • Complete Epic charting system documentation accurately and timely • Work variable 3x12 hour shifts with weekend coverage requirements • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year) • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules with self-reported time tracking • Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering employment within comparable specialty setting • Maintain valid state licensure and required certifications • Utilize facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in AK
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
