Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Med Surg Tele to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Wilmington, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct nursing care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:6-7 • Perform IV starts and telemetry monitoring for adult and geriatric patient populations • Maintain current BCLS certification and obtain ACLS certification as preferred • Pass EKG testing prior to assignment start • Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation and care coordination • Float between medical, surgical, and telemetry units as needed based on census and staffing requirements • Assist in caring for patients held in the emergency department who require inpatient services • Work 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15) with every other weekend requirement • Complete 24 hours of unit orientation upon assignment start • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year) • Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable acute care modules pre-start and annually • Adhere to fatigue policy of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week • Participate in Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team assignments when required • Report to work during catastrophic events, mass casualty situations, or disasters as needed • Provide care for patients with COVID-19 when required • Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring • Implement isolation precautions and infection control measures • Manage peripheral line care and non-invasive airway management • Utilize rapid response teams and interdisciplinary support services • Maintain professional appearance adhering to navy and/or white scrub requirements
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
