Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Cardiac Tele to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Wilmington, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care for cardiac telemetry patients with diagnoses including congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, and pre/post cardiac catheterization
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:6-7 during 12-hour night shifts
• Monitor and interpret cardiac dysrhythmias using telemetry and remote monitoring systems
• Administer and titrate cardiac drips including Diltiazem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Cardizem, Milrinone, and Dopamine
• Perform pre/post cardiac catheterization care and cardiac surgery care
• Conduct sheath removal procedures and manage TR bands and Femstop devices
• Access ports and manage central lines and PICC lines
• Administer blood products and manage peripheral line care
• Document patient care using Epic charting system
• Utilize Pyxis medication dispensing system and SBAR communication methods
• Float between units within the hospital and to affiliate hospitals as needed
• Work 5-6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period (every other weekend)
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
• Participate in Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team assignments during catastrophic events
• Complete 24 hours of unit orientation
• Pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually
• Maintain current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Adhere to fatigue policy of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
• Provide two manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months
• Maintain current nursing license (NC or Compact)
• Follow self-scheduling process per unit needs
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
