Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Med Surg Tele to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 4x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Wilmington, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care to medical/surgical and telemetry patients • Maintain patient ratios of 1:6-7 during night shifts • Administer medications including insulin drips and heparin protocols • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias • Manage peripheral IV lines and perform blood product administration • Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation • Operate medication dispensing systems including Pyxis • Float to similar units within the hospital or affiliate facilities at least once per week • Provide wound care and manage wound vacuum systems • Maintain current BLS certification • Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable training modules pre-start and annually • Work every other weekend as required • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) • Participate in Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team assignments during catastrophic events • Pass required EKG competency testing • Complete 24-hour unit orientation program • Adhere to facility dress code requirements (navy scrubs) • Maintain valid RN licensure in North Carolina or compact state • Provide two supervisory references from the past 12 months • Complete required compliance testing within 48 hours of contract signing • Follow fatigue policy limitations of maximum 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
