Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Ultrasound Tech - Ultrasound Tech to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Perform ultrasound examinations including high risk OB, GE, abdominal aorta, appendix, breast, gallbladder, liver, pancreas, pediatric abdomen/pelvis, and spleen imaging • Conduct obstetric ultrasounds for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimester pregnancies including fetal anatomical surveys and placenta previa assessments • Perform specialized procedures including amniotic fluid index, bone length measurements, cerebellum and ventricle imaging, and gender determination • Execute gynecological ultrasounds including ovaries, uterus, and vaginal examinations • Conduct general ultrasound procedures for head, heart, bladder, hernia, prostate, renal/bladder, testicles/scrotum, and thyroid imaging • Perform breast cyst aspirations, breast ultrasounds, and superficial mass examinations • Provide level 1 OB scans and GYN scans for outpatient services • Maintain current ARDMS and ARDMS OB/GYN certifications • Maintain current BLS certification • Utilize Epic charting system for documentation and patient records • Complete required modules and training programs pre-start and annually (4-5 hours for non-acute roles) • Float between units within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals as needed based on census and skill sets • Work Monday through Friday schedule from 7:45 AM to 4:30 PM with 45-minute meal break • Complete required compliance documentation and lab testing within 48 hours after signing • Provide two manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months • Maintain valid NC or Compact state licensure • Adhere to fatigue policy of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week • Complete orientation requirements during first week of assignment • Perform duties as a registered diagnostic medical sonographer • Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
