Position Summary:

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive patient care on the cardiac progressive care unit (PCU) • Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmias • Manage post-operative patients following CABG, valve replacements, TAVR, and other cardiac procedures • Provide pre and post cardiac catheterization care • Perform arterial sheath removal and management • Administer and manage cardiac drips without titration requirements • Titrate cardiac drips as ordered • Monitor and care for patients with chest tubes using Emerson/Pleuravac systems • Provide non-invasive airway management including CPAP/BIPAP and nasal cannula • Care for patients with arterial lines and perform arterial line management • Provide wound care and manage wound vacuum systems • Perform EKG testing and pass required EKG competency • Document patient care using Epic charting system • Maintain current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications • Work night shifts with patient ratios varying by acuity (1:3-1:5) • Float within the hospital unit rotation system based on census needs • Work required weekend coverage (4 shifts per 4-6 weeks) • Participate in Storm Team and Hurricane Team assignments during catastrophic events • Complete 24 hours of unit orientation • Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually • Maintain valid nursing license (NC or Compact state) • Provide two supervisory references from within the past 12 months • Adhere to fatigue policy limits of maximum 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week • Comply with facility dress code requirements (navy scrubs)
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
