Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Wound Care to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 5x8 Days at a leading Hospital in Wilmington, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide wound care nursing services in hospital and pediatric settings
• Perform comprehensive wound/ulcer assessment and management including neuropathic, peripheral arterial, pressure, and venous ulcers
• Conduct pressure ulcer staging I-IV assessments
• Utilize various wound treatments and dressings including alginates, foams, hydrocolloids, vacuum assisted closure, and wound vac therapy
• Perform conservative debridement, mechanical debridement, and sharp debridement procedures
• Provide colostomy and ileostomy care and management including equipment selection
• Conduct ulcer risk assessments using Braden scale and prevention risk assessment tools for adults and pediatrics
• Manage symptoms including alterations in skin and mucous membranes, pain, and various patient conditions
• Provide G-tube/J-tube feeding and site care
• Maintain infection control and isolation precautions
• Conduct patient and family education and teaching
• Utilize Epic charting system for documentation
• Participate in SBAR communication, 4P processes, and daily huddles
• Maintain current BLS and WOCN certifications
• Complete required non-billable training modules pre-start and annually
• Work Monday through Friday day shift schedule
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays when required
• Maintain valid nursing licensure
• Provide two supervisory references from within the past 12 months
• Complete compliance testing within 48 hours after signing
• Adhere to fatigue policy limitations of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
