Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Med Surg Tele to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Winston Salem, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care as an RN in Medical Surgical Telemetry unit with patient ratios of 1:6-7
• Monitor and interpret telemetry readings and manage dysrhythmias
• Perform IV starts and maintain peripheral line care/management
• Administer blood products and medications including heparin and insulin
• Access and manage ports and central line blood draws
• Provide care for patients with CVA, feeding tubes, and surgical drains
• Perform wound care and wound vac management
• Utilize non-invasive airway management and nasal cannula oxygen delivery
• Implement isolation precautions as required
• Utilize rapid response teams when needed
• Document patient care using EPIC charting system, Pyxis, and SBAR communication
• Float to similar units within the hospital or affiliate hospitals as needed
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15
• Work every other weekend as required
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
• Complete 24 hours of unit orientation
• Pass EKG testing prior to start
• Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually
• Maintain current BLS certification and preferably ACLS and NIH certifications
• Adhere to fatigue policy of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
• Follow self-scheduling protocols
• Wear required navy and/or white scrubs
• Maintain teamwork approach and meet behavioral expectations in all patient and staff interactions
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
