Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Winston Salem, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide labor and delivery nursing care for patients 20 weeks gestation and above
• Maintain 1:2 patient ratios in a 21-bed unit
• Perform triage for pregnant patients 14 weeks gestation and above
• Manage labor inductions and multiple drips including Pitocin, magnesium, and insulin
• Care for high-risk pregnancies including preterm, multiple gestations, and preeclampsia
• Manage postpartum hemorrhages and other obstetrical emergencies
• Circulate in operating room for cesarean sections
• Recover patients post cesarean section
• Assist with epidural anesthesia administration
• Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation
• Start and maintain peripheral IVs
• Operate epidural pumps, PCAs, Alaris pumps, and fluid warmers
• Administer nitrous oxide and amnio infusions when applicable
• Float within Women's Services as needed based on census
• Work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Complete required modules and training programs pre-start and annually
• Maintain current BLS, AWHONN Intermediate, and NRP certifications
• Provide resuscitation for infants 22 weeks gestation and above
• Complete 2-day unit orientation and 2 half-days in OR training
• Adhere to facility policies including dress code requirements
• Complete required compliance testing within 48 hours of signing
• Maintain valid nursing license (NC or Compact state)
• Provide two supervisor references from within the past 12 months
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
