Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - OB to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Winston Salem, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care for high-risk antepartum patients from 4 weeks to term • Perform couplet care for mother and baby with 1:4-5 patient ratios • Monitor and interpret EFM strips for fetal heart rate patterns • Provide care for postpartum patients requiring telemetry or 2 grams of Magnesium • Manage patients with PICC lines, central lines (CVC), and insulin drips • Administer anticonvulsants, antihypertensives, and magnesium sulfate therapy • Provide care for GYN surgery patients and readmissions for surgery complications • Assist with high-risk deliveries and deliveries of patients less than 20 weeks gestation • Provide care for GYN/ONC surgery patients • Utilize Epic Dimensions and CPN documentation systems • Use Pyxis medication dispensing system • Float to L&D (if qualified), Pediatrics, and/or Mother Baby units as needed • Work every other weekend as required • Maintain patient ratios of 1:3-5 for general care • Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually • Maintain current BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications • Provide care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients • Work with interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams • Adhere to fatigue policy of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) • Complete hospital and unit orientation during first week of contract • Maintain valid NC or Compact state nursing license
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
