Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Med Surg Tele to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 4x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Winston Salem, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive nursing care for medical surgical patients with telemetry monitoring
• Maintain current BLS certification and obtain ACLS and NIH certifications as preferred
• Complete required 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year)
• Utilize Epic charting system for all patient documentation
• Float between units within hospital and affiliate hospitals as needed based on census
• Maintain 1:6-7 patient ratio during shifts (maximum 1:7 during critical staffing)
• Perform IV starts and telemetry monitoring for patients
• Administer blood products and manage central line care
• Interpret dysrhythmias and provide appropriate interventions
• Implement isolation precautions and infection control measures
• Manage peripheral line care and non-invasive airway management
• Participate in rapid response teams and emergency situations
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15
• Participate in self-scheduling system
• Complete 24-hour unit orientation program
• Maintain valid state nursing license (NC or Compact)
• Provide two supervisory references covering past 12 months of employment
• Pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Adhere to fatigue policy of maximum 5 consecutive days and 60 hours per week
• Demonstrate teamwork approach and meet behavioral expectations in all patient and staff interactions
• Complete laboratory testing within 48 hours of contract signing
• Work every other weekend as required
• Maintain professional appearance adhering to navy and/or white scrub requirements
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
