Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Winston Salem, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care for high-risk antepartum patients from 4 weeks to term
• Monitor and interpret fetal heart rate patterns using electronic fetal monitoring (EFM)
• Read and analyze EFM strips with intermediate level proficiency
• Provide couplet care for mother and baby on postpartum unit
• Manage patients requiring telemetry monitoring
• Administer and monitor magnesium sulfate therapy
• Manage insulin drips and continuous infusions
• Maintain and monitor central lines including PICC and CVC
• Provide care for GYN surgery patients and readmissions
• Assist with deliveries of patients less than 20 weeks gestation
• Provide care for GYN/ONC surgery patients
• Utilize Epic Dimensions and CPN documentation systems
• Operate Pyxis medication dispensing system
• Float to Labor & Delivery, Pediatrics, and Mother Baby units as needed
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:3-5 patients
• Work 12-hour night shifts (36 hours weekly)
• Provide call coverage as required
• Work every other weekend as scheduled
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
• Complete hospital and unit orientation during first week
• Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually
• Maintain current BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications
• Adhere to facility dress code requirements (navy, white, or combination scrubs)
• Comply with fatigue policy restrictions (maximum 5 consecutive days, 60 hours per week)
• Complete required compliance documentation within 48 hours of signing
• Provide two manager/supervisor references from past 12 months
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
