Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Torrance, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care for labor and delivery patients including low and high-risk labor patients, antepartum with multiples, hypertensive disorders, diabetic conditions, and multiple system issues • Maintain current ACLS, AWHONN Advanced (or C-EFM), BCLS, and NRP certifications • Support PM shift operations with flexibility to work weekends as required • Circulate and recover cesarean sections, including PP D&C procedures • Scrub for and circulate for C-sections as needed • Float to Mother/Baby unit and affiliate hospitals as required • Provide care for patients with multiple system disorders including hypertension and diabetes • Follow AWHONN standards with appropriate patient ratios (1:1 for active labor, maximum 2 for early labor) • Perform newborn care and support Baby Friendly practices • Conduct non-stress tests and set up delivery tables • Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation • Provide precepting support when needed • Care for patients across age groups including neonates, infants, adolescents, and adults • Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary support teams including IV teams, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules • Commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) • Maintain valid state licensure and provide supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years • Complete 24-hour orientation program • Utilize facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties • Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules and maintain completion records
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
