Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Santa Monica, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care in antepartum, labor, and triage rooms
• Monitor fetal heart rate and manage high-risk pregnancy cases
• Assist with vaginal deliveries and perform sterile vaginal examinations
• Circulate and scrub for cesarean sections in OR suite
• Provide post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) support for patients receiving general or regional anesthesia
• Assist with intraoperative procedures including emergency D&C and emergent hysterectomy
• Perform newborn care role at delivery
• Float to postpartum unit as needed and provide couplet care (maternal and newborn)
• Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation
• Maintain required certifications including ACLS, BLS, NRP, FHM, and AWHONN Advanced or NCC EFM
• Complete pre-start and annual training modules and document time spent
• Work every other weekend and commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays
• Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals within the state as required
• Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years
• Maintain current California state nursing license
• Obtain LA fire card within 30 days
• Maintain strict patient confidentiality and privacy standards
• Use facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and social services
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
