Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Surgical Tech - Surgical Tech to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 5x8 Days at a leading Hospital in Fullerton, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Perform casting, splinting, and bracing procedures for orthopedic patients
• Handle 10-15 casting patients per day in dedicated casting room
• Remove and replace cast blades and perform cast modifications
• Apply various cast types including long arm posterior, short arm volar, short leg posterior, and thumb spica
• Fit and apply orthopedic braces including hinged knee braces and shoulder immobilizers
• Provide gait training and patient education
• Remove and trim casts as needed
• Apply splints including gutter splints, foot muff splints, and hand muff splints
• Document patient care using Epic charting system
• Maintain current BLS certification and OTC certification from NBCOT
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Provide care to adolescent and adult patient populations
• Float between facilities within the state as required
• Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
• Utilize facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
