Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - ICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Burbank, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care for Medical, Cardiac, and Neuro ICU patients with 1:2 patient ratios
• Demonstrate neurological intensive care experience with 3-4 skill level proficiency
• Manage specialized equipment including CRRT (Prismaflex or Prismax), IABP (Cardiosave by Getinge/Maquet), and Impella (Abiomed)
• Perform arterial line management and pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring
• Provide care for ventilated patients and manage ventilator settings
• Administer and titrate cardiac drips and vasoactive medications
• Manage central lines, PICC lines, and external ventricular drains (EVD)
• Monitor and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and cardiac dysrhythmias
• Provide post-neurosurgery management and care for traumatic brain injury patients
• Assist with procedural sedation administration and monitoring
• Perform blood product administration and IV insulin protocol management
• Provide care for patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Maintain current ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications
• Float between units as needed to meet staffing requirements
• Work every other weekend with 4 weekend shifts in 4-week scheduling period
• Work 3 out of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Utilize Meditech charting system for patient documentation
• Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
• Use facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
