Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Torrance, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care for labor and delivery patients including low and high risk patients with various conditions • Support PM shift operations with flexibility for weekend work • Maintain required certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced (or C-EFM), BCLS, and NRP • Float to mother baby unit and other affiliate hospitals as required • Circulate for cesarean sections and provide recovery care • Scrub for cesarean sections when needed • Perform postpartum D&C procedures • Provide care for patients with antepartum multiples, hypertensive disorders, diabetic conditions, and multiple system issues • Follow AWHONN standards for patient ratios (1:1 for active labor, no more than 2:1 for early labor) • Utilize Epic charting system for documentation • Provide newborn care and baby-friendly practices • Perform non-stress tests on patients • Set up delivery tables and equipment • Provide precepting support to new staff when possible • Care for patients across age groups including neonates, infants, adolescents, and adults • Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams • Complete required training modules pre-start and annually • Work 3 out of 5 major holidays as required • Maintain California state nursing license • Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years • Complete 24 hours of orientation • Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules • Use facility-provided communication devices when required
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
