Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - PreOp to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Days at a leading Hospital in Salem, OR. Key Responsibilities:
• Utilize the nursing process to provide safe, quality healthcare to patients in surgical services including Pre-Surgical Screening, Prep/Recovery, Operating Room, Endoscopy, and PACU
• Provide patient care services as RN in Prep/Recovery (Stage 2 recovery)
• Work 3x12 hour shifts with variable start times of 0900 or 1100
• Maintain current unencumbered RN licensure in the State of Oregon
• Maintain current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Obtain AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire
• Obtain AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 6 months of hire
• Utilize Epic charting system for documentation
• Complete required modules and training programs pre-start and annually
• Float within hospital or to affiliate hospitals as needed
• Provide care for patients undergoing various surgical procedures including cardiac, orthopedic, neurological, gastrointestinal, and other specialty surgeries
• Perform pre-operative assessments and education
• Manage post-operative patient recovery and monitoring
• Administer medications including narcotics, anticoagulants, and emergency medications
• Monitor patient vital signs and manage pain assessment
• Provide patient and family education and discharge instructions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including physicians, respiratory services, pharmacy, and other healthcare professionals
• Maintain competency in emergency procedures including CPR and dysrhythmia management
• Ensure compliance with isolation precautions and infection control protocols
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in OR
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
