Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - ICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Salem, OR. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care in ICU/PCU setting with floating between units
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 1900-0730
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:1 as assigned
• Manage care for patients with sepsis, respiratory failure, traumatic brain injury, neurosurgical interventions, multi-system organ failure, stroke, GI bleeding, cardiac/respiratory arrest, complex vascular surgery and multi-system trauma
• Utilize Epic EMR system for patient documentation and charting
• Maintain current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Perform IV starts and maintain intravenous access
• Monitor and interpret telemetry and cardiac rhythms
• Provide conscious sedation monitoring and administration
• Manage ventilated patients and ventilator settings
• Perform arterial line management and blood gas interpretation
• Administer blood products and manage transfusions
• Provide central line care and management
• Titrate vasoactive drips and continuous IV sedation
• Manage patients requiring continuous IV paralytics and neuromuscular blockade
• Assist with chest tube insertion and removal procedures
• Provide care for patients with fresh tracheostomies
• Monitor ICP and manage external ventricular drains
• Perform procedural sedation administration and monitoring
• Manage pulmonary artery lines and Swan Ganz monitoring
• Provide post-craniotomy and post-neurosurgery patient care
• Care for spinal cord injury and traumatic brain injury patients
• Manage surgical wounds with drains and wound vacs
• Perform endotracheal and nasotracheal suctioning
• Implement isolation precautions and proper PPE protocols
• Float to affiliate hospitals as required, including West Valley Hospital
• Work minimum of every other weekend with flexibility for additional coverage
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules (up to 8 non-billable hours)
• Maintain Oregon CNA license and work toward Oregon RN license if pending
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in OR
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
