Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - CVICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Salem, OR. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide cardiovascular intensive care nursing services to patients 16 years and older with primary cardiac diagnoses including heart failure, post-cardiac arrest, and cardiothoracic surgery • Work 12-hour night shifts (1900-0730) in a blended CVICU/CVIMCU unit • Maintain current BLS and ACLS certifications • Provide care for post-cardiac surgery patients directly from OR, including CABG and valve repair/replacement procedures • Manage patients with IABP therapy, Impella insertion, post PCI, pacemaker insertion, and ablation procedures • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and manage dysrhythmias • Administer and titrate cardiac drips and vasoactive medications • Provide care for patients with acute coronary syndrome, STEMI/NSTEMI, and arrhythmias • Assist with chest tube insertion/removal and management of ventilated patients • Perform arterial line management and central venous pressure monitoring • Manage patients requiring continuous IV sedation and neuromuscular blockade • Provide care for patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure • Float between CVICU and CVIMCU units as well as affiliate hospitals when required • Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules (non-billable, up to 8 hours) • Maintain Oregon CNA license and obtain Oregon RN license as required • Participate in care of patients requiring specialized equipment including ventilators, CRRT, and ventricular assist devices • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in OR
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
