Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - PCU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Salem, OR. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care in the 30-bed neurotrauma care unit for patients with brain or nervous system disorders including stroke, cerebral hemorrhage, seizure, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, brain tumors, traumatic brain injuries, and spinal injuries • Maintain 1:3-4 patient ratios and manage telemetry monitoring • Interpret cardiac rhythms and manage dysrhythmias • Administer and manage cardiac drips including nitro, Cardizem, amiodarone, and Nicardipine • Perform non-invasive airway management and oxygen protocol administration • Provide peripheral line care and management including PICC line management • Complete NIHSS assessments and swallow screens • Manage lumbar drains and CSF drainage systems • Provide pre/post neurosurgery care and post-craniotomy management • Administer blood products and manage IV insulin protocols • Perform bedside NG tube placements and feeding tube care • Implement isolation precautions and proper PPE usage • Activate rapid response teams when appropriate • Float to affiliate hospitals including West Valley Hospital as needed • Document patient care using Epic charting system • Complete required pre-start and annual modules (up to 8 non-billable hours) • Maintain current BLS certification through AHA • Work every other weekend as scheduled • Provide care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in OR
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
