Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - ICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Salem, OR. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive nursing care in ICU/PCU settings with floating between units • Work 12-hour night shifts from 1900-0730 • Maintain patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:1 as assigned • Utilize Epic EMR system for patient documentation and charting • Manage care for patients with sepsis, respiratory failure, traumatic brain injury, neurosurgical interventions, multi-system organ failure, stroke, GI bleeding, cardiac/respiratory arrest, complex vascular surgery and multi-system trauma • Perform IV starts and maintain intravenous access • Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias • Administer conscious sedation and procedural sedation with appropriate monitoring • Manage ventilated patients and ventilator settings • Provide arterial line management and interpret arterial blood gases • Administer blood products as ordered • Manage central line care and maintenance • Titrate vasoactive drips as prescribed • Maintain BLS and ACLS certifications • Float to affiliate hospitals as required • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules (non-billable up to 8 hours) • Work every other weekend with additional coverage as needed • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams • Maintain infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions • Manage patients with spinal cord injuries and traumatic brain injuries • Assist with chest tube insertion/removal and manage surgical wounds with drains • Provide post-operative care for craniotomy and neurosurgery patients
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in OR
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
