Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - ER to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Winston Salem, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care in emergency department overflow/holding unit • Manage patient care ratios of 1:6-7 patients • Perform IV starts and maintain IV access • Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmias • Access and manage central lines and ports • Provide chest tube care using Emerson/PleurEvac systems • Manage cardiac drips without titration • Perform non-invasive airway management • Utilize Epic charting system for documentation • Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually • Float to similar units within hospital or affiliate hospitals as needed • Work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays • Assist with procedures and diagnostics as ordered by providers • Support patient throughput from emergency department to inpatient units • Maintain current ACLS and BLS certifications • Pass EKG testing prior to start date • Complete 72 hours of unit orientation • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, respiratory services, and rapid response teams • Care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations • Adhere to fatigue policy limiting work to maximum 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week • Maintain current nursing license and provide two supervisory references
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
