Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Med Surg Tele to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 4x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Winston Salem, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care for medical surgical patients with telemetry monitoring
• Maintain current BLS certification (ACLS and NIH preferred)
• Demonstrate proficiency in IV starts and telemetry interpretation
• Utilize EPIC charting system for all patient documentation
• Pass EKG testing prior to assignment start
• Float to similar units within the hospital or affiliate facilities as needed
• Work every other weekend as required
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year)
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:6 during normal staffing (maximum 1:7 during critical staffing)
• Complete 24 hours of unit orientation
• Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable pre-start and annual training modules
• Adhere to fatigue policy of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
• Maintain professional appearance with navy and/or white scrubs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams
• Perform skills including blood product administration, central line care, dysrhythmia interpretation, and isolation precautions
• Participate in self-scheduling system
• Complete required compliance testing within 48 hours of contract signing
• Provide two supervisor references from the past 12 months
• Maintain valid NC or compact state nursing license
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
